In ‘Incoming,’ a teen comedy film on Netflix, four high school students attempt to impress their high school crush, Bailey, at their first party. However, things don’t pan out as they try to ask Bailey out, leading to a singing adolescent playing Benj. This film is an example of an audition-worthy production, as Mason Thames, the actor playing Benj, appears to be attempting to stage a sympathetic duet to win over his crush.

The actor Mason Thames was extremely anxious and nervous when he recorded his singing scene.

The ‘Incoming’ performance was actually a performance by actor Mason Thames, who spent six hours a day in the studio preparing for the last part. As he does not sing, he was sent to the film studio and other high-ups to give him vocal training and emulate the singing of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” during the penultimate moments. The actor found the scene to be heartwarming and significant as he brought the character’s emotions

During an interview with Clutch Points, the actor revealed that he was terrified of singing Stevie Wonder in front of school and subsequently stopped singing entirely due to the discomfort. He believes it was a good idea to have done it before the film was ready.

Mason Thames has been experiencing PTSD from hearing Stevie Wonder’s classic song since his performance. He was forced to perform the song multiple times due to Isabella Ferreira’s reaction that prevented her from performing the song live in front of her.

The actor, who recently appeared in the film ‘The Black Phone’ (2018) directed by Scott Derrickson, said that he was scared to the point of singing in front of people during the scene.
