Mason Thames (born July 10, 2007) is an American child actor, known for starring in the Scott Derrickson-directed horror movie, The Black Phone. He also featured in Apple TV+ series, For All Mankind.
2017-2020: Beginning
He was featured in Apple TV+ series, For All Mankind, created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi. He featured in three episodes of the first season. After, he was then cast as Robbie Knievel in Evel, a biographical drama based on the life of Evel Knievel, however production was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2021–present: Breakthrough
Thames was soon cast as the lead in a Scott Derrickson horror film, The Black Phone, starring alongside Ethan Hawke, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, and James Ransone. The role garnered him widespread acclaim, and the film received generally positive reviews from critics. He also featured as a Young Walker in the first two seasons of Walker. In November 2021, he wast cast alongside Mel Gibson in Boys of Summer, an indie feature directed by David Henrie. In June 2022, before The Black Phone’s wide theatrical release, he was cast in high-school comedy, Incoming, from Spyglass Media. In June 2023, he was cast in Universal’s live-action adaptation of How To Train Your Dragon, set to star alongside Nico Parker.
