New Years Rev to Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival
The band co-produced the film New Years Rev, which will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 12.
Directed by Lee Kirk, New Years Rev stars newcomers Mason Thames, Kyle Coffman and Ryan Foust as the trio’s characters head to Los Angeles under the false impression that their garage band will be opening for the “American Idiot” rockers on New Year’s Eve — except it’s a prank.
Nevertheless, naively optimistic, the young group set off on the road from Kansas to California, with wide-eyed dreams of being on stage alongside their heroes.
In an Instagram post, Green Day share their excitement for the film’s debut, calling it “a wild road trip coming-of-age” comedy.

How To Train Your Dragon Collaboration Art
Toothless and Hiccup have found a new pair of allies in the skies. Instead of the Isle of Berk, they hail from a different village altogether: the Hidden Leaf Village, home to Naruto Uzumaki, who’s featured in a special collaboration visual alongside Gamakichi, the character’s personal summon.
In the special tie-up between Naruto and How to Train Your Dragon, the yellow-haired protagonist is seen fist-bumping Hiccup as the latter sweeps into an overhead turn. The artwork is illustrated by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto, and serves to celebrate the upcoming release of DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures’ live-action adaptation in Japan.

Moster Summer Debut
Monster Summer will debut exclusively on Paramount+ with Showtime on July 1.
According to the official synopsis, the story begins “when a mysterious force begins to disrupt their big summer fun, Noah and his friends team up with a retired police detective to embark on a monstrous adventure to save their island.” The movie was directed by Wizards of Waverly Place vet David Henrie from a screenplay written by Cornelius Uliano and Bryan Schulz.
Mason Joins The Shitheads
Mason Thames is set to join the ensemble cast of upcoming comedy The Shitheads, starring Dave Franco, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Peter Dinklage. Macon Blair is writing and directing.
Pic follows cynical degenerate Mark (Franco) and bumbling idealist Davis (Jackson) as they’ve both hit rock bottom. Paired for a job by a shady transport service, their task seems simple: transport Sheridan, a wealthy troubled teen, to rehab. But Sheridan has other plans and what starts as a simple road trip becomes an unhinged odyssey of drug-fueled disasters, near-death experiences and criminal encounters. Out of their minds and in way over their heads, Mark and Davis find the courage to face their failures and realize that it’s not the destination that matters, it’s the sh*theads you meet along the way.
